After a rough day at work recently, I went to leave and my coworker looks at me and says, "run far, and run hard". And so I did, for the first time in such a long time, I put on my running shoes and ran. I ran so hard and got so lost in the moment that I ended up next to a lake. And it was beautiful, and so therapeutic for my soul.

NO MORE APARTMENT LIVING!
Yeah, you heard that right. I get to move and I am beyond excited. This was my first (and hopefully only) time living in an apartment. It was a good learning experience, especially for moving to a place where I knew almost no one (cue the thousand plus people who know my family). i loved being by myself but now I get to live in a house with two other friends and I could not be more excited. I sweet-talked my father into flying up and helping me pack and move, he couldn't say no. Now, here comes the unorganized mess of throwing stuff into boxes and into the back of my car. Here comes the Pinterest boards of decor lovin'. Here comes a new adventure! Cheers to new beginnings, and the sun starting to come out!

Coolest dad in the whole dang town!
These past couple weeks have been excessively difficult for me and I cannot tell you why, simply because I can't identify the reason why. But for whatever reason, I was a little down. I wasn't necessarily missing California but rather the feeling of being home and being with my family. Anyway, I think my dad was able to sense it in my voice over the phone and he went a bought a ticket to come see me for the weekend. We didn't have much time together but it was perfect for getting me up on my feet and get me going again. Honestly, the feeling of waking up to the smell of bacon and walking out of my room to see him cooking in my kitchen was the best thing ever! It was like all those Saturdays growing up when he would cook breakfast for the whole family. I am so happy that he was able to be up here and be with me for a couple days. You only get one dad and I am beyond lucky that he is mine:)
Oh, this is the man that said he would only come see me "once a semester" and now has been up here three times since August. He puts on a tough front but I knew he wouldn't last seeing me only twice a year;)

A baby beaut.
So to catch you guys all up, I should start with the birth of Austin and Chantal's baby girl! In case I haven't mentioned it or it got lost somewhere, Austin is somehow my distant cousin (not going to get into how we are related, my family is HUGE) and after high school, I moved into their house to do work and school and we became rather close to say the least. In mid-September of last year, A&C told me the good news that they were expecting again! They already have two boys, Owen and Kellen. We were all secretly hoping it was a girl but we just wanted a healthy pregnancy. Anyways, one day I was watching the boys while A&C were at the ultrasound. Chantal called me with the wonderful news that everything was okay and it was a girl! Then came the long months of anticipation and they had brought the idea earlier to me that they wanted me there for the birth. Chantal is a nurse and wanted a natural birth at home, she had a positive experience with Kellen and I began to get even more excited to be there to witness everything. The baby was due on May 11. May was a busy month to say the least- I had a church convention 5 hours away from the 2-5, a speech to deliver on the 9th, my sister's college graduation the 18th, and finals the following week. We were all on the edge of our seats through this. Church convention came and went, May 11th came and went, studying for finals came, and on May 17th at 5:30 in the morning, Austin bursted in my room saying she was in labor. I groggily walk out to the living room to find 3 midwives wondering how to work the Keurig machine. Funny sight actually: hey lets make a living out of delivering babies but coffee machines are not our forte. Seriously, I was laughing at the sight of them. We instantly bonded, I liked them because they liked coffee and they liked me because I knew how to get them coffee. And on our day went. I got the two younger ones up for breakfast and then ended up taking them to grandmas. around 10:30 that night, it was time.
Most incredible thing I've ever seen. People ask me if it scared me to even have my own kids- no it didn't. You really can't describe it. I am so grateful to A&C for letting me be there for this and to watch their baby's first moments and to live with them and let their kids be around me.

California born&bred, Montana living.
Okay so lets just do a thirty-second recap on my life since my last post: I put on my big girl panties, I packed up my room and a good amount of furniture from garage sales, left my favorite babies (cousins), and moved. Moved 1100 miles away to my favorite place in the world- Bozeman, Montana. I'm in love with it here. Its a place where I practically grew up. A place I know as good as the back of my hand. A place where I spent so much time riding horses, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and having insane road trips with my family. This place makes me happy. It's a place that doesn't know pain to me, a place that will always stay the same, a place where I feel my family's history. I love the mountains, I love the people, I love the professors and I love the fact that I can see Costco from my apartment window; I am my daddy's daughter! So for now, I am a California girl living in a Montana world.

School's out! {and Kellen is happy as ever}
Many many things have happened this past month or so. My sister Caily graduated from college. Yes folks, the thing in which I'm barely starting. Speaking off, I also finished my first year! Whoo! (thinking I should be done now). And also, I witnessed the birth of my cousins' baby, most beautiful thing ever! Lots to come, but for now, I'm leaving you with this because I honestly think he's way more excited about me finishing my first year than me. Now he can just bat those long eyelashes of his and smile his little boy smile and I'll make him a sandwich and watch Backyardigans all day long. Because we all know its what summer's all about. Cheers folks!

One Wish.
When I found this, I immediately screamed in my head in utter glee and screenshotted it on my phone. The other day, one of my professors asked us to write down on a piece of paper what we would wish for if we were granted one wish. When asked this question people are always like, "I wish for unlimited wishes" but me, i wrote down "my childhood".
