Let me get this straight.

So before I tell you about my awesomely fun weekend in Costa Mesa, let me get this straight:

Obama is President?

For another four years?

That is gut-wrenching.

Now, let me straighten this out: I am a Republican. You can love me or hate me for it but I was raised being taught that hard-work is one of the most rewarding attributes on earth. I hate it when people are leeches and suck off people who work hard to provide for themselves and their family. I can't stand it when people tell me I'm racist when I don't vote for Obama. Really? Is that how you handle an argument and a difference of opinions? I grew up in a conservative family and can remember having discussions with my grandpa about his farm and how he provided for himself, his wife, and 6 kids. My dad is a business man so I grew up with those genes. Growing up with my dad, I inherited his political outbursts and I manage to spout off things in the middle of class which eventually led me to getting kicked out of Language Arts in 9th grade when my teacher made us watch the Inauguration speech Obama made for the 2008-2012 term.

Fine. I didn't want to watch it anyway. So sue me. Three other kids followed me and we sat outside the door until the bell rang for 3rd period.

So Tuesday, I went over and sat with Chet and while we were determined to do homework, we didn't get anything done. Instead, we sat there stalking about 12 different websites with the live votes being counted for hours. We had dinner and dessert but just kept sitting there. When we saw Obama's results spike over 270 to 275, my heart dropped and I threw up a little in my mouth.

You have got to be kidding me.

"The government will never make everyone equal.
They will just make people equally miserable."

On that note. I'll go be bitter elsewhere but here is a little something to brighten your day.

The night of pumpkin seeds, messy hands and sugar hangover.

I wasn't able to spend Halloween with my family this year but I did happen to spend it with Fireman Owen, a turtle, superman and super girl! Some of the cutest kids ever. We packed some jellybeans and after an eventful day of the pumpkin patch, we loaded our pumpkins and headed back to carve and watch a Chargers game.

Yesterday, I worked and then came back to BOO-ritos (haha, I'm so clever), and cute kid smiles eager to trick-or-treat. I myself did not go out with everyone, I stayed back and passed out candy and studied for a PSYC test that I had the next day (I'm in college people, I have to be responsible every now and then ;). So anyway, I passed out candy and snacked on a few pieces myself.

I saved all the chocolate for me! :)

Later that evening when the kids came back, they sorted candy and ate each other's while the adults tried to hide the candy buckets. They said, "out of sight, out of mind, right?"

No. Wrong.  Kids don't forget candy, who are they kidding? They let the kids indulge themselves because they worked hard for it.

Plus of the night- I got to hold my newborn cousin, Dylan Roy who was born the day before my birthday, October 7.

Sidenote: I talked to my dad yesterday and his plan was to "turn off all the lights and go to bed early".
Let it be known: 1) My dad is an old man and likes his rest , and 2) My father is the Halloween Grinch folks.

Hope you had a safe and eventful Halloween!
Pumpkin Patch bound!

Dylan Roy- sorry for the awful quality!

10 Simple Things.

So since I've moved, I have noticed there are certain things I miss from home.
Of course I miss my family and friends and maybe high school (yeah, right), but sometimes when I'm doing something, I stop and think, "Wow, I really miss the simplicity of that". Sometimes, the smallest things can just make you smile in the worst of days.  I miss the simplicity of being in the presence of my family, even when we aren't doing anything spectacular. I miss the simplicity of everyday happenings such as-

1) Waking up to the super-obnoxious espresso machine my parents had. My dad got up around 5:00 in the morning so he would get coffee and it would wake me up. I hated it at the time, but I kinda-sorta miss it now.

2) Hugs from Liana's dog, Rocky (I call him Rocky-feller). He's old and a tad grumpy but he'd curl up in my lap or if Liana and I were sleeping, he'd curl up on top of us.

3) Having jam sessions with my best friends Joel & Andrew. It was like having my own personal concert, we would just hang out, not even talk, and just play our guitars.

4) When my mom would keep the pantry stocked with my favorite snack.

5) Eating dinner with my family. Every night.

6) Falling asleep on the couch and waking up to my dog's wet nose against mine telling me to get off my lazy bum.

7) Babysitting these munckins'.

8) Late night cravings that involved getting fast-food.

9) Lazy days.

10) Nights with Liana. In which we did nothing but stay up late, eat ice-cream, dance to Ke$ha and looked up elementary classmates on Facebook.

In which Kellen furrows his brow and walks.

After 15 months, Kellen Jay decides to stand up and "wing it" with an ample amount of confidence. If you watch this and don't crack a smile, I don't know what is wrong with you ;)
Enjoy! Pics to come!

We ditched college & preschool for Disneyland! 2 cool 4 school.

They told Owen if he got rid of his pacifier, he would get to go to DisneyLand and check out Cars Land. He did, and they asked if I wanted to go. I'd be crazy if I said no. So, we left around 8:15 and got there when the park opened. Spent all day riding rides and eating at Flo's Cafe.

Mickey Mouse, Lightning Mcqueen, Mater, and big lollipops were there too.

We love big glasses!

iPhone-esia.

Okay, so remember when I mentioned my brand new spankin' iPhone I just got that I'm infatuated with? Well here's the story:

I've never had good luck with phones. I'm not exaggerating. Remember when the hot pink razrs were the bomb? Well, for my thirteenth birthday, I got one of those babies. My sister was peeved because she asked for one for her birthday a few months before, and my dad gave her a pack of pink (shaving) razors as a joke. Apparently she didn't think it was too funny because I got the silent treatment for weeks. Who really cared though? I had a phone that was the bee's knees. Anywho, when that became old news and it was embarrassing to own a razor, I tried to "break" my phone and succeeded. In hopes that my parents would get me a new hip phone, they instead got me the- Same. Exact. One. Who was I kidding?

Anyway, so we were up in Montana one year and I dropped THAT pink razr in the snow and the next morning my dad almost ran over it while he was on a snowmobile (no joke). So that I put that in front of a to-go heater for two days and it worked except for the screen so I couldn't see anything. It was real awkward when someone would call that I didn't want to talk to and be like, "Oh, hiii". Like I said, awkward. So last year before I went to Georgia in September, that phone kicked the bucket and my dad was like, "you are NOT going across the country without a phone. so he got me the phone you see in the first picture. Lived with that stupid thing till a few weeks ago when he decided to upgrade me and my sister to iPhones. What a gem!

So, let me just say this loud and clear: My sister, Caily, cannot, for the life of her, keep a secret. I always knew about the secrets, I'm a good secret-keeper. One weekend my parents wanted to surprise us kids with tickets to DisneyLand. I knew about that for weeks. And when my uncle flew out from Oklahoma when we were little, I kept that a secret for weeks too.  Caily always complained that she never knew anything. (Uhh, can I tell you why?)So, my dad thought it would be brilliant to tell my sister about these new phones and tell her to keep a secret. Guess who spilled the beans? Yep, Caily.

I love my new phone, all the gadgets and whatnot. Siri, is such a sass though, so be careful. Plus, it's sparkly white, like the whites of your eyeballs.

So here is my first phone.
And please excuse the 'do, I just got back from work.
.....
Who am I kidding? That's my hair everyday ;)

Ain't it gawjus?
Told you Siri is a sass.
Like I said, my hair is always a mess.
But apparently, she's feels it necessary to broadcast that.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Okay, so let me start off by saying that I am terribly sorry that I haven't been updating as often as I said I would. I woke up today with a feeling of having to be productive. Being the first day of fall, I decided to sit down and have at it.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. Actually, I like every season. Every single season comes with perks. Winter, I mostly spend in Montana where snow blankets the ground and the trees are absolutely beautiful. It doesn't hurt to spend a White Christmas with your family either ;) My dad loves winter because he gets to snowmobile and ski and be outdoors-y. Spring is okay, my grandpa loved it because that's when he planted his garden and spent most of his time outside. Summer of course, because it's when you get up at noon and put your bathing suit on. I mean who, in their own right mind doesn't like that? Pure joy. And Fall because it's when the air is crisp and cool and you can dress in layers. Fall is my momma's favorite season, so when I was little, she made her famous pumpkin muffins at least once a week and would pass them out to neighbors and friends. Plus, she would always come into our school classes and read Too Many Pumpkins with Rebecca Estelle and her ever-growing supply of pumpkins.

So today, on a Saturday, first day of Fall, I woke up with the sky overcast and my room was cold and I just snuggled under my blankets. It's just the simple things. Making coffee and blogging in my tie-dye shirt my cousin made me is just simply peaceful.

Oh, another thing, I was never too fond of the saying, "Happy Fall Y'all". My mom always uses it and I thought it was kinda obnoxious but I'm growing to like it and I thought it was appropriate for this occasion:) So, my hope for you is that your day is also fun and you wake up feeling giddy about a new season and new opportunities!

Montana and it's beauty. Need I say more?

Montana once again.
Surprise, surprise!

Enjoy your day!
